My University House - Part 1

I am so tired and worn out from working on placement that I feel like if I try to do anything energetic I will keel over and pass out!  I am now back at my parents house for the weekend and have had food made for me and can relax and sleep.  It also means that I am reunited with my favourite camera that I stupidly left here!  On my camera are some pictures of my new house at university which I am in love with.  I took these last week when I first moved in.  I don't yet feel at home there but I'm sure I will soon enough.

Tomorrow my little brother is going off to university!!  I say little, he is 20 in just over a week, but to me he is still my little brother.  It feel like just yesterday I was starting university.  How time flies! I can't wait to see what his room is like so of course I volunteered to help him move in.  I am so nosey!  I love moving into new houses and unpacking and finding places for things.

Just one more week left of placement and I can resume normal life!  Although I'm starting to think, what is normal life?  I spend so much time switching from weeks at lectures to weeks on placement and it gets a bit frustrating not having one constant thing.  Ah well, just 8 more months until I am fully qualified and I cannot wait.  I feel like I am progressing on placement so well now and am quite pleased with how far I have come with all the learning I've been doing!

I FINALLY HAVE INTERNET!! YAAYYYY!  So now I am fully settled into my house at university, with fully functioning internet and I am loving this house and my new room now everything is unpacked and has a home!  Photos to come!... When I work out where I put all my camera-y bits.  I'm still on placement and have been finding this week very tiring and hard-work but I am learning lots and putting in lots of effort which seems to be paying off.

But onto the main reason of this post.  Today I am going to express my love for this woman:

FLORENCE! From Florence + The Machine!

I watched Florence and The Machine at Reading Festival on television, and then live at Bestival on Youtube... and I love her!  I love her voice, her music, the clothes she wears and her hair.  I went to see Florence + The Machine live a few years ago and the performance she puts on really does look as good as it looks on television.  I would love to go and see her again!

My third year university work is already stressing me out and it's just a fraction of the work we have to do this year!  It is what I have been spending each evening after placement working on and I still don't feel like it's up to a good enough standard!  I always like to produce my work up to a really good standard but on this piece it is just not happening!  It doesn't help that I left it to the last minute, which is what I always do with work, but it seems like in third year you have to be prepared in advance!

I had plans to go away with my parents this weekend for one night.  So yesterday morning we packed our bags and set off.  After a good days shopping and sitting by the sea we went back to the hotel to check in and get ready for an evening meal and some drinks for my parents anniversary.  But we got to the hotel to find that it had been booked for the previous night by mistake!  This is the sort of thing that generally happens to my family!! So after a few arguments, blaming each other and thinking what do we do now we tried to book another hotel in the area but they were all full up so we had to turn around and go home! It sucked and was a waste of an evening and made what could have been a nice evening and good weekend turn into a crappy one.  But at least I got some new tights out of it bought by my Mum and I get today to finish my assignment which has to be handed in tomorrow.  Boo!

I love these new tights from Primark, they had a great selection there!  I really like some of their Autumn selection too so will be back into Primark some time soon to browse around!

Placement!

I have been on my placement working in a hospital all week which has been going really well!! This week I'm on the 2-8 shift which sounds good as in the mornings you get a lie in and can go to bed quite late in the evenings, then don't have to wake up early the next day.  But it's quite difficult when I have an assignment to complete!  I have been working in Accident and Emergency this week which is my favourite place to work as I love looking at and working with gross stuff and blood and broken bones.  Although it's not always like that but I still love it!  It feels quite strange being a third year too.  Personally I do not feel ready to be a third year, I think my ability and knowledge is up to third year standard but it just feels scary realising I should know so much and in about 8 months time I will be fully qualified!  Eeeek!

I haven't been blogging much recently which has been driving me mad as there's posts I want to do but I'm living between my University house which doesn't have internet yet and my parents house while trying to do my assignment so I haven't had time.  But by Monday I should be settled in my University house and my assignment should be completed :)

Yesterday it was my Mum's birthday so I went with my parents and brother to watch the Paralympics.  We saw judo, sitting volleyball, powerlifting and table tennis.

It was a good day!

This evening I am moving into my house at University, ready to start placement tomorrow.  I will be the only one there all week, with no internet.  What am I going to do?!  I can see myself going back to my parents' house quite a few times during the week.  I hope am I good enough on placement and up to the standard they expect for my final year.  Wish me luck!!

New Hair New Hair!!

My local hairdressers was doing a deal where you take along your own box of hair dye, they match up the colour and give you a choice of a few, and then dye your hair in the chosen colour.  Just for £15!  Of course I snapped up an appointment quickly.  I always dye my own hair because I'm happy with the way it looks when I do it, but also because having your hair done at the hairdressers is very expensive, especially for a poor student like me.  But at just £15 I couldn't resist!

I went along there today with the intention of becoming blonde.  But after the advice of the hairdresser I chose a coppery/reddish colour.  It's quite different to my usual mahogany colour, but I quite like it.  It just needs some getting used to!  I got quite a bit chopped off the bottom too.

I'm very sad summer is coming to an end.  Not that we've had much of a summer here in England this year but now it's getting colder I can start wearing boots and warmer footwear which I love.  I wore my Converse today which are one of my favourite pairs of shoes but I don't wear them very often so thought I would give them an airing.

 Last night I went karting which was a lot of fun!  Although now today I am quite achey.  Tonight I am off to see Total Recall.  Wednesday night I went to see The Expendables 2.  Tomorrow I am off to watch some paralympics.  Sunday I have a family dinner and then am off to move into my new University house.  I'm so busy, busy, busy and I still need to do some last minute packing for Uni, preparing for my placement and complete an assignment! AHHHHH!!

In Love... With My Top

Yesterday afternoon I went on a shopping trip for my Mum's birthday present and then I went to see a friend.  Why are Mothers so difficult to buy for?! Me and my brother always struggle to decide what to get my Mum for her birthday and Christmas.

Yesterday evening I also went to see my new house where I'll be staying for University this year.  It is looking very nice!! I also went back there today and will be there tomorrow so I'll put some pictures up of it soon.  I am loving my new room!!

I wore my new top from Primark yesterday.  I think I'm in love with it!  I wore it with jeans and some old boots to dress it down a bit.
